Between washes, do less harm
Oriental rug care between professional washes is rotation, suction without a beater bar, and fast blotting. A beater bar pulls wool knots and frays fringe. Vacuum with the suction head, in the direction of the pile, and skip the fringe or use a gentle pass. Rotate the rug so the same path is not the only path.
Pads, sun, and spills
A pad stops the foundation from grinding on the hard floor and keeps the rug from walking. Sun through the same window will fade a dye that no wash can restore. Move the rug or filter the light. Blot spills. Do not soak a knotted rug and roll it up.
The wash is still required
Care at home does not remove the grit in the knots. That is a plant wash on a schedule. When it is due, we pick the rug up and bring it back. Call (949) 992-3299 for oriental rug cleaning or pickup.
