Sofa and Couch Cleaning for Fabric Sofas and Sectionals
Dark arms, a gray headrest, and crumbs in the joints
Look at the arms and the top of the back first. Skin oil and hair product turn those spots darker and a little shiny before the rest of the sofa changes color. Run a hand into the sectional joints and you will find crumbs. An old spill that wicked into the cushion can leave a sour smell when you sit down.
Why the crevice tool and a home steamer fall short
A vacuum crevice tool pulls out crumbs, but it does not dissolve oil. A steam pass without checking the fabric first can shrink a cushion cover or leave a water ring on rayon. Soaking a spot from the top also pushes the spill deeper into the foam, and it comes back as a ring once it dries.
Read the tag, test a hidden spot, then clean the fiber
We read the tag when it is still on the deck, because codes like W, S, or X tell us whether water is safe on that fabric. We test a hidden spot, then clean with EPA Safer Choice products suited to that fiber. Sectional pieces are separated enough to reach the faces that touch. Cushions are cleaned and dried so they can go back on without a mildew smell in the foam.
Leather, worn fabric, and what to tell us when you call
If the sofa is leather, say so, because it should not be cleaned like woven fabric, and we will treat it as leather furniture. Cleaning lifts soil, but it will not fix sun fading, pilling, crushed pile, or cushion foam that has broken down. When you call (949) 992-3299, tell us whether it is fabric or leather, whether it is a sofa or a sectional and how many pieces, and where the pet or spill spots are. We have cleaned in Irvine and Orange County since 2021, and we are Google Guaranteed with a BBB A+ rating.
